Walter Meego - Voyager

Remember that old Art Brut song "Bad Weekend?" There's something about saying "Popular Culture no longer applies to me" over and over in your head that is appealing, but ultimately your girlfriends penchant for shitty reality TV brings you back. That being said, I believe there was a song of this bands on some sort of commercial or tv thing (that I'd rather not take the time, or give time warner the pay per click). So other than that, this band rocks.

Something about the distorted jazz/swing vocals of Justin Sconza (plus the sick dual Van Halen riffs of "Keyhole" which they nailed expertly during their live set in the Abbey just rattles my cage) and the ability for the band to produce thoughtful dancey music without the XXXbpm of most bands who take that aesthetic .

Did I just parenthetically compare music on an indie blog to Van Halen? Not in the Girl Talk review.....oh fuck me. With my already shotty music credibility flushed down the toilet, I'm going to go play Drarklands and stare off into space.
