PNAU - PNAU

The beauty of the blog age is that you can be fucked up out of your mind, surfing Google, and find a fucking brilliant gem that really strikes you. PNAU represents one of those defining moments in internet surfing where countless hours of meandering shitty blogs actually gives you the return of sweet music.

Pronounced Pa-Nau, this Sydney based duo has been together since 99'. Limited success in Australia means that you can be the first kid on your block to have that next, relatively obscure techno/indie band from Australia (my there have been some good ones recently). Look for the energy of Muscles and the playfulness of Cut Copy.

If that wasn't enough, they skate that fine line between Trance, House, Indie sensibilities, with pop song structures that just happen to be heavy in the synth and acid dept. Standout tracks "Come Together," "Lover," "We Have Tomorrow" "With You Forever" couldn't be any different from each other. While they all subscribe to the classic "duufff duufff dufff" of electronic music, "Forever" feels new wave (I would have aid rave but thats just too fucking cliche). "Lover" definitely could be played in clubs like Crobar. Subtlety is not this bands gig, but if you like the trancey/indie shit coming from down under, this is a must have.

Enyoy......
